Cookies, local storage, and session storage
A cookie is a small record a website or service places in your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar browser features: local storage can remain after you close the tab, while session storage is generally tied to the active browsing session.
These tools do not read arbitrary files from your device. They hold small pieces of site state, identifiers, or preferences.
What NeuqOS currently uses
| Purpose | Technology | Typical life | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Site operation and security | Base44 platform cookies and storage | Session or provider-defined | Loads the app, protects requests, and supports sign-in where used. |
| Ask Neuq continuity | Browser session storage | Current browser session; conversation state is designed to clear after inactivity | Keeps the guide coherent while you move through the site. |
| Consultation progress | Browser session storage | Current browser session | Keeps your intake and booking step from disappearing while you complete it. |
| Welcome preference | Browser local storage | Until you clear it | Remembers that an introductory prompt has already been shown. |
| Operator sidebar | Cookie | Up to 7 days | Remembers a private operator-interface preference. |
| Scheduling | Calendly cookies and storage | Set by Calendly | Loads its scheduler and manages the booking flow when you choose to use it. |
Provider behaviour can change independently of NeuqOS. Calendly describes its controls in its own notices, which are available from the booking experience.
What you can control
Your browser can block or delete cookies and site storage. Private-browsing modes can also limit persistence. If you clear or block operational storage, the public site may still load, but sign-in, Ask Neuq continuity, intake progress, saved preferences, or scheduling may stop working as expected.
You can avoid Calendly storage by not opening or completing the embedded scheduler and contacting us by email instead. A cookie banner is not shown merely for ceremony; if optional tracking that requires a choice is introduced, we will add an appropriate control.
Changes and contact
We review this notice when browser storage, embedded services, or tracking practices change. The updated date above is the version record.
Questions about a specific cookie or stored value can be sent to josh@neuqos.com with “Cookies” in the subject line.
